GopherCon Poland

GopherCon Poland is the Polish edition of the GopherCon conference. The goal of the event is to raise the participants' qualifications and show the applications of new products in Go language.

Code of Conduct

Organizers will execute this code during the whole event.

Short Version

GopherCon Poland aims to ensure a peaceful environment for everyone regardless of gender, orientation, appearance, disability, race, ethnic derivation or religion. We do not tolerate harassment, name-calling or inappropriate jokes in any form, neither on-line nor off-line. Be nice to others and do not intimidate them.
If anyone harasses you, file a complaint and organizers will take action. Thank you for making our event nice for everyone.

Long Version

Harassment includes abusing verbal comments about gender, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, body size, skin colour, religion, sexual images/clothes/attire/costumes, creating a sexualized environment in any way, intentional intimidation, stalking, following, constant interfering during talks, inappropriate physical contact and intrusive attention. Partners and sponsors stalls as well as their workers are also subjected by this policy. Stalls cannot serve alcoholic drinks.
Misusing alcohol or other illegal substances, excessive cursing or abuse are not welcome on GopherCon Poland.
If any participant behaves in a way that violates this Code of Conduct, the conference organizers will take appropriate actions, including a warning about committing a crime or expulsion from the conference without refund.

Reporting an incident

If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. Our team will be happy to help you contact the venue security, local law enforcement, local support services, provide escorts and assist you to feel safe for the rest of the event.
We value your attendance. Harassment and other code of conduct violations reduce the value of our event for everyone. We want you to be happy at our event. People like you make our event a better place.

If you believe that someone is violating the code of conduct or you have any other concerns, please contact a member of the event staff immediately:

  • Conference staff can be identified by t-shirts with the conference logotype. Incidents can be reported in person to any conference organizer or be written down and sent to askamruk@code-squat.eu
  • The report should include as much information as you remember. Even if the report lacks important details such as the identity of the person taking the harassing actions, it should still be recorded and passed along to the appropriate staff members.
  • We will fully investigate it and take whatever action is necessary to prevent a recurrence. Thank you for helping make this a welcoming, friendly event for all of us.
  • Conference staff will not make any public statements about the behaviour of individual people during or after the conference.

The report should include:

  • Identifying information (name/badge number) of the participant.
  • The behavior that was in violation.
  • The time it happened.
  • The circumstances surrounding the incident.
  • Other people involved in the incident.
